Products and Services

How to streamline the visibility of your products and services

When adding new products and services, you can streamline their visibility by applying specific filters, ensuring that they only appear for the relevant jobs. This approach helps drivers avoid sifting through an extensive list of products and services items, making their experience more efficient.

Here are the options:

Route-based products/services using location tags

Route-based products/services using destination/pickup location

Using locked rate agreements

Using a date range

Location tags in products and services

If you have specific pricing, availability, or operational constraints based on locations or routes, you can use location tags and locations to tailor your product and service offerings accordingly. For example, if a group of producing wells is designated as part of a specific hauling zone—say, Hauling Area A—you can assign a location tag such as "Hauling Area: A" to those well locations. Then, by associating this location tag with a particular product or service (such as a fluid hauling pickup), you ensure that only that product or service will be available for those designated locations. This is especially useful for implementing route-based pricing, where rates vary depending on the origin or destination of a service. By aligning your offerings with specific tags and locations, you enable more accurate pricing, reduce operational errors, and ensure services are only available where applicable.

Using location tags

Using location tags is a smart way to filter your price book items! To assign a location tag to the pickup location of your product/service, simply click on the "Use Tags" button. From there, you can open the dropdown menu to see all the available location tags. Just check the one you’d like to add to your price book item; this will make sure that these products and services only show up for jobs with pickup locations that match your selected tag.

Using pickup locations

You can also use pickup locations to filter out your products and services. To do so, simply uncheck the use tags option and click on the dropdown option. This will show you the list of all available locations, from which you can select the pickup locations of all the jobs under which these products/services should show up.

Using destination location/tags

Both these filters also apply to destination locations. You can use location tags as well as actual locations as a filter to determine which jobs should display this product/service.

Note: You can combine location tags and specific locations for both pickup and destination locations. However, you can only apply one type of filter at a time for each location category.

Using a Service provider

You can establish a condition for your product or service to ensure it is only visible for jobs linked to a specific service provider. This feature is especially useful when you have different rate agreements for various service providers, enabling you to filter out products and services that do not apply to the selected provider. When you create a product or service assigned exclusively to one service provider, it results in a locked rate agreement that the provider cannot alter. For more information on locked rate agreements, please refer to this guide.

Using a resource type

Resource type is another great option to add to your product/service, as this will ensure that only the jobs that come under the selected resource types display this product/service.

Using a date filter

You can also take advantage of a date filter to specify that this product/service is only visible for jobs that were completed before or after a certain date. This way, you can easily manage the relevance of your price book items based on timing!
